First time at soft play.
Let me just start by saying I really wish I had taken Lennon to soft play way before now, you can take your baby even if they are not mobile. They will be super interested in watching the other babies and children running around. I was also nervous about how the other Mum’s would be and they were fine. Honestly, if you have a soft play centre near you, GO! Parent’s Paradise is free for babies under 1 too!

The morning started off soooo bad, Lennon was being so grouchy, took ages to eat his breakfast and just wouldn’t let me put him down. From this point I wanted to just give up and go back to bed. Lennon seems to think it’s ok to wake up at 4:30am again, which may I add, is not ok. We had our morning cuddles in bed then went down to see Riley and have breakfast, Lennon had marmite crumpets as always. After a lot of trying he finally went to sleep so then I took advantage of getting ready and doing a 10 minute spring clean. Lennon always decides to wake up at the most inappropriate time, I was going for a wee upstairs and he was downstairs. Makes me panic so much as he is now moving and I get so scared if he is alone in the room. I got us all ready to go and attempted to give him his lunch early as I knew it would be a bit tricky when we was out but he wasn’t having none of it. I then went to put him in the buggy to realise he has poo’d and yes, he leaked so I then had to fine a whole new outfit. Complete stress.
On my way to parents paradise I then realised I had forgotten my socks so had to come back. As I started my journey again I was over thinking which was I had to go and went wrong. Finally going the right way and nearly then I come across this hill. After walking in the boiling hot sunshine and in jeans for about 30-40 minutes I saw this hill and wanted to cry.
When I arrived at Parents Paradise I was the first one there so I got settled and had to change Lennon as he had poo’d yet again. I completely ruined one of the sofa’s as my buggy clip somehow managed to get stuck to it! I decided to wait in the baby area for the girls to arrive and as soon as I put Lennon down I knew he was going to have an amazing day. He went off straight away and wanted to play/touch everything in sight. (I felt very awkward taking photos when other children were in the area with me so they aren’t great pictures sorry).
This was the first time I was meeting these Mum’s and Babies so my nerves were like crazy. I don’t usually meet up with people I have never met before but I am so happy I picked up the courage and done it. The Mums were called Amber with her baby boy Freddie & Imogen with her baby girl India. All of our babies are 6 months and born so close together so I hope they will become friends forever.
They arrived and it felt like we had known each other ages anyways as we have been speaking for a while. (Sounds like we were on a date haha). We was introducing the babies to each other and they all seemed to like each other straight away. Lennon just wanted to eat them and grab both of their hair so I had to keep distracting him.
Lennon’s favourite things to play with was the swing (of course) and the ball pitt. I really need to get him one as he loved being in the ball pitt and on the outside playing with the balls. He really enjoyed being able to crawl everywhere and he is attempting to climb up things. I was trying to get Lennon to teach Freddie & India how to crawl but he just kept trying to get them. Freddie loved the swing too so I suggested they got one for at home too and India loved the jumperoo. She was so happy just watching the other children run around whilst she was just jumping around. We put all three babies in the ball pitt together and they all sat there for a while just wriggling around. Look how cute they look!
Lennon then got super hungry and tired so off we headed to have a drink and a chat. I fed Lennon and he went to sleep. Freddie also fell asleep & India, well she was just being too nosey and watching everyone. It is so lovely to be able to chat to other Mums who are in similar situations as yourself without being judged (thanks girls). Imogen took India back into play for a bit and Amber and I just sat chatting. Not long after she came back Harry (Amber’s partner) joined us as he wanted to see Freddie at soft play & to meet Lennon, Imogen left to go home as she had other things to do but us three and the babies stayed longer. Lennon was obsessed with him, he really liked crawling towards him and climbing his legs (Oh and getting his phone). Freddie was still asleep by this point so Harry went and got him and brought him back to play. Lennon and Freddie was then playing together, Lennon was trying to eat Freddie’s head and Freddie was trying to eat Lennon’s hands. We got some lovely photos of them together!
The area for babies in Parents Paradise is a lot smaller then I thought and there wasn’t that many toys for them to play with. The older children also came in a lot and destroyed the place by throwing the balls everywhere. Eventually the inner nursery practitioner came in me and I told them to get out. I think they could do a lot more with the space they have in the building but oh well. I will probably be going there a lot more often as Lennon slept so early last night and for once I had an evening to myself. Although I won’t lie, I got so bored. We didn’t leave soft play until about 5 o’clock and we arrived at around 1 o’clock. We obviously all got on so well and had an amazing day. I hope we meet up more often and let the babies interact with each other more.
Thank you so much Amber & Imogen for such a lovely day.
